I purchased my 2 dachshunds 4 years ago and they are called Jack and Jill. My lady is just 13 lbs,my boy is 24lbs. . I got them kind a by mistake their owners both moved on to the next world a year apart. . I had never plotted to breed these wonderful wieners. .Ive had 3 litters so far .I cant imagine a more friendly kind of dog after owning them. When Jill had her first litter I wasn't home . I didn't understand she was so close to having the puppies because when I got her she was already pregnant. When I arrived home I found one pup on my lounge. We found more pups behind the toilet, one was still in the sack and not breathing.

Jill was scared of her little gruesome bundle of dachshund joy aka her dachshund puppies . We put her down on the ground and place the puppy next to her so it could try and suckl. . Fortunately about an hour or so later Jill took to the new little chap so we were all delighted. . At that stage we were fairly sure that the puppy behind the toilet was the only one left.

Later that evening we went up stairs to bed. . Jill and her newborn dachsund spent the night with us in our room so we could make sure everything was alright. . Once they were both glad lying down in their box my hubby turned off the light. . Just as he made his way over to the light he thought he could detect a little noise in the corner.

He opened the door and followed the sound to the bed room across the hall. . What he found was another pup lying in the bed with my other dog Jade. Jade was cleaning the poor little chap . My other dog is an 80 lb half pit bull half boxer female named Jade.

Jade has never had a dachshund before . Strangely however she has coped every time to produce milk when Jill has pups . Jade is fairly sure that Jills pups are her own and Jill even lets her feed her . They constantly lie by her side. Jill couldnt concern at all as she knows the puppys are in extremely good hands with Jade. They all sleep in one big bed together Jade Jill and Skippy and they are thrilled to bits with themselves .

I have never seen so many dog sitters for a miniature dachshund. They plunge themselves from a great height onto poor old Jade yet she likes it . She just lays there wagging her tail or fiddles with them. It's funny seeing her leap at them and they jump right back .It regularly amazes me that all of the puppys have never been hurt as the size difference between Jade and them is massive.
